Ski Area

The Vialattea international ski area includes Sestriere, Sauze d’Oulx, Oulx, Sansicario, Cesana, Pragelato, Claviere and the French Montgenèvre, with 249 slopes (7 green, 80 blue, 120 red and 42 black) and 70 ski lifts. It is known for its wide open spaces and its beautiful sunny slopes, and features both traditional villages with Occitan wood chalets and modern resorts equipped with every comfort. The sheer number and variety of slopes in this ski area is guaranteed to satisfy not only very demanding skiers, but also those approaching the world of skiing for the first time.

Sestriere hosted the 2006 Winter Olympic Games, and offers lots of activities and fun for both skiers and non-skiers. There are trails for winter hiking and snowshoeing, and bobsleigh and toboggan runs to delight both adults and children. Sestriere also has a skating rink. Finally, there’s a swimming pool in the Village with a counter-current unit, a large fitness area with a fully-equipped gym, and a wellness centre with sauna, Turkish bath, Jacuzzi and beauty treatments.
